    • What a fun Christmas party!  If anyone has a suggestion for more entertaining games for next please let me know.  Moving paintballs was the theme this year.  Between the knees, in a spoon in ones' mouth, passing to teammates in a spoon, etc.
      • The Paintball eating race to 100 paintballs, had 5 contestants.  Thanks to: Burton, Jeff, Blaine, Trevor & Matt.  Matt has now won 3 years in a row.  Matt just cracked the competition away.  Once you have heard the sound of a paintball being broken in some ones mouth, you will never forget that sound.
      • Everybody had a story to tell.  It's a paintball party.  The videos were quite entertaining.  If you want a copy of the video tape of the nights festivities, contact me & I'll see what can be arranged.  No promises, as Bob is a busy guy.
      • I don't think anybody will ever forget the gift exchange: especially the yellow hat, sheep & bottle, that traveled around to a few different exchangers.
  • Dec. 6, 2000
    • In the US, the Paintball News Network is currently running a POWERaDE / Paintball promotion on US Campuses.  Sorry, only registered US College or University students can win: Micro-mags, Automags, Autocockers, passes to playing fields, Fuji cameras & film, Pro-team player packs, Diablo Skull masks, subscriptions to Paintball News, MCI Long distance Cards, T-shirts & POWERaDE.  The prizes all come from major sponsors of the Paintball News Network.  POWERaDE is manufactured by Coca-Cola.  This is a national campaign which could be quite interesting to the results.
    • The Canadian National Speedball Championships are Jan. 27 & 28, in Calgary.  They are sponsored by Paintball Paradise Regina & MR Paintball Calgary.  The MR site has no information on this 5-man event.  There are 3 divisions:  Novice (no electronic markers, CO2 only & 400 paintballs per player per game), Amateur & Masters.

    • The Hell Hounds web page is up and running.  So is the Saskatchewan Message Board.
    • Hell Pups a young guns team of the Hell Hounds, Captained by Nick Hipperson.  They have another site, called HellPups2.

    • Come out and see our Float in the Santa Clause Day Parade.  It's today at 11 a.m. starting at 15th St and Central Ave., proceeding down Central Ave. until River ST.  If you are going to be on the Float, please be at the Bus Depot @ 10 a.m.
    • Looks like the Next open Day will be Sunday Nov. 26, 2000 @ 1 p.m.  I'm going to try to book the Optimist Centre for our annual Christmas Party on Nov. 25 (Saturday), but this is tentative.
    • The Float went well, and the weather was okay.  Thanks to: Pat, Jim H., Jeff, Burton, Martin, Kyle, Kathie & George for being in the parade.

  • Nov. 7, 2000
    • Have you ever heard of the Perfect Circle Paintball?  It's a plastic coated paintball, manufactured by a sister company of Airgun Designs.  It is used in Law enforcement applications, because it doesn't age (more durable) and more accurate.  It's fill can contain: pepper spray, CS gas, UV dye, movie spark balls, water for easy clean up (police training has been used for 5 years), plus a few more.  You can buy halves and create your own fill.  Sounds like they were used at the Seattle Riots, quite effectively.  Here's a little news article.
    • Airgun Designs has purchased www.automags.org, which is an online Automag source.
  • Nov. 1, 2000
    • The original Saskatchewan Forum has been shutdown.  I not exactly sure why, but I has been a few weeks.  James Jackson has started a new message board, called the Saskatchewan Paintball Forum.  Some of the posting to the old board were inappropriate for visitors to the Paintball Paradise Web Site (especially parents of Birthday Groups), so I'm moving the link to my Links page from the Index page.  It's a little harder to follow, but it is moderated.  It could turn out better, as posters are not anonymous.  Let me know what you think.  The message board was good for Saskatchewan Paintball, hopefully it will continue.

    • Looks like a good turn-out for the Open Day on Sunday.  If you need a lot of paint, please let me know.
    • 2001 memberships are For Sale $70.  If you buy one now, it will be good for the rest of this year as well.  Membership benefits include:
    • Check out Redz Comfort Gears updated web page.  They run a contest to win their products: like a barrel bag, gun bag (neoprene), elbow pads, etc.  I saw their products in Pittsbourgh in 1998, and it was top quality products.
  • Oct. 21, 2000
    • The next OPEN Day is Oct. 29 @ 1 p.m.  It's a Halloween costume day.  Anybody in a costume (other that normal paintball attire) will get 50 paintballs.  Who can guess what player will be Friar Tuck?  Someone should be a ghost?
  • Oct. 16, 2000
    • Magboy's Web page of the week is the new EM1 from Kingman USA.  It's the new electronic  Spyder.  Check it out!
    • Rumor:  It sounds like there will be a manufactures agreement to set the maximum fire rate at 13 balls per second and only one ball fire per trigger pull.  So Turbo cards would not be made any more, and most likely be banned from all insured playing fields.

    • I've just purchases a Kodak PalmPix.  It's a digital camera which plugs into my Palm IIIxe.  It's very small (3"x1"x0.5") but does take low resolutions pictures.  640 x 480 (~90K) and 320 x 240 (~30K), which work quite well for web pics.  So maybe we'll get some new pics for the page this weekend.
  • Oct. 12, 2000
    • The Epic from Insight Component Engineering operates very differently from most semiautomatics.  It has no bolt.  Only a trap door which opens to let the next paintball in, and then a burst of air fires the ball.  It should eliminate ball breakage in the marker.
  • Oct. 8, 2000
    • Warrior Sports Gear has a new product, called the Barrel Condom.  It's a heavy, webbing bag that replaces a barrel plug, over the barrel (so it works well on ported barrels), and is attached to the marker with an elastic.  They also sell T-shirts, packs, gear bags, netting, etc.

    • Don't forget the Open Day Sept. 24 @ 1 p.m.  It's sounding like there will be around 30 players out.  Introducing the SUPER Pass: it includes all the normal rental equipment plus 500 paintballs for $54.
    • I think some of you might like this company, TM Ordnance.  They make paintball Mortars, bouncing & impact shells (like paint grenades), land mines & grenades.  The Mortars can fire up to 500' on CO2.  This might be interesting for the Big Game.
    • Also of note: POWERaDE (from Coca-Cola) will be producing some commercials featuring paintball as the extreme sport of choice.  This is all from the Paintball News Network sponsorships.
    • You might want to check out the latest Viewloader, called the eVLution.  It's rounded and features a new sliding type lid.  They also have a VLocity, which is a on gun Chronograph (fits over the barrel).
  • Sept. 16, 2000
    • 42 players came out for the Night Game.  I believe that was the largest Night Game that I have hosted.  The Moon was full & bright.  In the end, it was a tie.  Blue 50: Red 50.  The fog machine broke, so no fog; but Burton & Mike kept it interesting with noise & lights.  I don't think I will extend the field into the granaries again. The last set ended at 2:22 a.m. (Sept. 16), and after Hot Dogs most had left by 3:30 a.m.  Thanks to everyone for coming out, and having a blast.
  • Sept. 14, 2000
    • Don't forget about the NIGHT GAME Sept. 15.  If you are renting equipment, be at the field by 7 p.m.for orientation.  The game starts at 8 p.m.  Bring a flashlight!!  The cost is an extra $5, above normal prices.
    • Just reduced on the For Sale page.  '98 autococker.  $450.  Check it out!
  • Sept. 14, 2000
    • A new product just arrived.  A Paintball Radarchron, which is a portable radar chronograph that fits in your hand.  Sport Sensors makes this product based on their popular Baseball Gloveradar (which measures the speed of pitches).  Warpig has an excellent article.  We'll give them a try at the Night Game.  Along with myself, Jean-Marc and Doug have bought one each.  They sell for ~$180 each.
  • Sept. 11, 2000
    • I had a fun time at the Border War.  There were 140 players out.  My team (Green) won.  Doug had done some serious work to improve the field.  Great job Doug!  I think the game went very well.  The tank & APC balanced very well.  The helicopter drops (simulated) helped to make the entire field playable.  After seeing Skippy (Green General) shot up, I don't think there will be many volunteers for that job.  Skippy really worked hard, and winning was a bonus.  It was fun.  Thanks Skippy.
  • Sept. 9, 2000
    • The Night Game on Friday Sept. 15 @ 7 p.m. looks like a huge event.  The cost is an extra $5 per player which includes each players Glow Stick.  We could hit 40+ players.  The Fog machine is booked.  I'm going to expand the Beta side of the field into the granaries.  The North side will enter behind the outhouse, between Bin #4 & #5.  This should place the Swamp and Big Barn in the middle.
    • Thursday Night Sept. 14 @ 7 p.m.  I will need a few extra bodies to set-up netting, and rope the expanded field.  Plus a set of lights in the Swamp needs repairs/replacement because of an incident with the lawn mower, but we'll check all the lights.  The Swamp is drying up finally.  I think I will use the same theme as the last Night Game (sort of Sci-Fi).
    • Don't forget to bring a flashlight!  If you need rental equipment, get me your deposit fast, as the gear is going out quickly.
    • Big Game in Asquith.  Reminder:  We are meeting at Tim Hortons on the Hill and leaving @ 7:45 a.m.
  • Sept. 7, 2000
    • JT USA has a new JT Gearsack.  It looks like a backpack but opens up to store: goggles, marker, barrels, HPA tank, and lots of pockets.  This looks really great.  MSRP $190 US dollars.
    • The World Paintball Federation has been contracted by Zap Paintball to produce Skyball 2001 on March 9 & 10.
  • Sept. 6, 2000
    • Check out The Generals Quarters Sept. Special of  12 volt reconditioned VL 2000 for $69.95, plus JT Airsteak masks for $34.95.
    • Sounds like there are upwards of 20 Prince Albert players going to the Border War Big Game.  If anyone needs a map call me 764-9444 or email me.  If you want to travel down a group, most players are meeting at the Tim Hortons across from McDonalds @ 7:45 a.m.  Sounds like I might be able to play this year, Thanks to Kathie, Bob & Jason running the lumber guys on the 10th.  Thanks.
  • Sept. 2, 2000
    • The Border War Big Game at Paintball Action Games Asquith on Sunday Sept. 10, sounds like there will be over 200 players there.  Doug has been working hard at getting refs (2 teams of refs, with one reffing the first part and one reffing the second part, allowing them to play 1/2 of the game).  Grant Robison will be one General (played on Point Blank at SHARE) and the other General is John "Skippy" Gibson of the Wolf Pack.  Doug is enlarging the playing area from 29 acres to 50 acres.  Registration is at 9 a.m.  The game starts at 11 a.m. sharp.  There are 2 x 2.5 hour games.  Registration is $10 per player.  You can Bring Your Own Paint or purchase (book ahead of time) Doug's paint @ 5 cents per ball (case lots).  Don't forget the Tank & APC driving around.
  • Aug. 29, 2000
    • I'm thinking of expanding the Big field for the Night Game.  I might move the Beta boundary into the Granaries part way.  The North team would enter by the outhouse.  This would make the Big Barn more in the center of the field.  Or is that too big?  What do you think?  Email George.
    • This might be interesting to all my Night Game players.  Essential Gear's web site has a few lights and things that might get you interested.
    • This is a Magboy site pick: Paintball Anime Desktops (Cartoons).  They are from www.sportsalternative.com
  • Aug. 28, 2000

  • Aug. 27, 2000
    • Great Open Day with over 30 players.  The new Zap Performance Plus paint shot well.  Blutonium paint was blue with orange fill.  Everybody seemed to like it.

  • Aug. 14, 2000
    • Just got back from the W2K Aftermath at Regina's Paintball Paradise.  There were 140 players.  It was fun, and shooting a case of paint in a day, just felt good.
    • The Hell Hounds had a good game planned out.  Until the last hour, either team could have won, but the Blue team seemed to be a bit more co-ordinated.  There were a couple of players on the Blue Team that would just grab a bunch of players and say "Come on, let do _____!", and everybody would normally say, OK.  I think the firepower advantage went to Blue.
    • There was a Rebel Red Team, that would shoot at anybody, but them seemed to get shot a lot.  Teams seemed to show up in waves.  If you got caught in front of one, you were eliminated.  The best you could do, is take as many of the other team with you, and hope the guys behind could stop it.  The field was big enough so that you could wander around and complete tasks, and maybe create some havoc.
    • It was a fun day, I'd play in it again.

      • 4 Pack Attack will be the refs.  Wayne Gouldhawke will be the Ultimate Judge.
      • I'm hoping to have a Target Shoot Contest.
      • Top Prize for Fundraising are: 3 x 300 psi Crossfire Stubbie 68 HPA steel tanks.  They are great.
      • I have 2 Autococker Ramrods 11" barrels to give away as well, plus a bunch of ZAP Paintballs.
    • Ramrod Barrels:
      • Jim H. and myself tested up these unique barrels.  So long as you don't chop a ball (right Jim), they will self clean in 2-3 shots.  They seem quite accurate.  The most impressive thing was the use of crap paint.  I had some paintballs from last fall, which would break in my Automag, usually every 5th ball.  Through the Ramrod, in 100 shots we only broke 3 balls, and shot it clear in 2-3 shots.  The crap paint as so seemed to fly straighter.  The Ramrods come with a special barrel plug, as regular ones would not work.  We shot a paintball that was left in the barrel, and the resulting splat disintegrated both balls into a fine paint mist, which sprayed 10' in all directions.  If you get the solid part of the barrel gooped, you need to squeegee like any other barrel.  I think they will make excellent winter barrels.  The barrels will retail for around $110 each, but they are limited to certain markers only.
      • They are coming out with a cover for the barrel to silence it, and improve accuracy.  Should be neat.

    • My MistyMates have finally arrived. Just in time for the Santa Anonymous tournament.  Hopefully it will be sunny and they will help cool everybody down.  I saw them at the Zap Open in 1998, and thought they would make an excellent addition to the field.  They just called them Misters, and once I found out what they were really called I ordered them up.

    • I just talked with Lee Gauthier from Crossfire Paintball in Winnipeg MB.  He was just broken into and had some equipment STOLEN!  These thieves knew paintball, as they left the broken guns and CO2 tanks with missing burst disks.  Please be on the lookout for these stolen items: 30 Tippmann Carbines, 9 & 12 oz. CO2 tanks to match, and 5 high end Leader Goggles (which include 2 tinted lens [ref goggles], and all with visors).  These thieves knew what was valuable, so they know paintball.  Lee has serial numbers for all the guns.  Please contact him, if you have any information.

  • June 18, 2000
    • We introduced a few hundred kids to paintball today on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River.
      • It was the Annual Founders Day, hosted by the High Noon Optimist Club.  The weathers was great, I'll see how badly we're sunburned tomorrow.
      • We sold a few Tri-color glow ropes while the fireworks exploded near by.  They are quite neat: green, blue and purple.  They look great being tossed around, and they are hard to lose in the dark.
      • My new Ez-up Canadian Flag & 21' pole worked terrific next to the Ez-up Tent.  The flag has a unique quill design, that doesn't fold down.  It is always visible.
      • A big Thank-you to Jim, Jeff & Kathie for helping out today.
  • June 16, 2000

    • I've just updated the July 9, 2000 Santa Anonymous Information Page.  I hope this helps to answer some of your questions.
    • Crossfire Inc. with some RamRod barrels have just become a sponsor of the Santa Anonymous Event.
  • June 13, 2000
    • I'm thinking of selling Redzcomfort Gear.  I met them in Pittsburgh.  They seem to have outstanding quality.  Let me know what you think.  George
    • Crossfire Inc. manufacture the Ram Rod (Rail) Barrels, and Carbon Fibre wrap & Steel HPA Tanks.  These look very interesting on their new web site.  The Ram rods only are made for the Autococker, Spyder & Angel.  You can buy an adapter to allow your Automag to use a Autococker Barrel, at Paintballgear.com but I haven't found it yet!  If you find it, please let me know.
  • June 9, 2000
    • These new Phantom pumpgun are fantastic.  I can use mine without modification.  Can't wait to try it out in a game.  Tilt feeds' can shoot 300 f.p.s., and the rest are limited to 270 f.p.s. Matt's Phantom is on the bottom of the Custom Configuration page on CCI's site.  That Acid Blue looks great.  Jeff's Urban is quite nice, and of course I love my Woodland.
  • June 6, 2000
    • Happy Birthday Jim!
    • The field has just acquired 20 new Mirage-Titan hybrids, and they work great (the rate of fire is better than a Titan, and no powerfeed).  We can now equip 50+ players quite easily, with great equipment.   We should have some great Open Days now.  The next Open Day is June 25 @ 1 p.m.
    • Just a reminder to CO2 Fill station operators, to check the valves on tanks for missing loctite.  During the last month, I've had 2x 24 oz. New Brass Eagle tanks come in with no loctite on one and on the other it was no longer holding on to the valve.  The valve could have separated from the tank, under pressure.  This is extremely dangerous.  Please be careful.
  • June 5, 2000
  • May 31, 2000
    • Check out the new items on the For Sale page.  A '98 autococker very reasonably priced.  And a set of JT goggles that won't last long.
    • The Open Day was great (May 28).  40+ players showed up in the rain and cold, and had a blast.  The next one is June 25 @ 1 p.m.  Hopefully, the weather will be better.

    • I had a conversation with Ryan Kozar, from Paintball Paradise Regina.  Team Aggression will be reffing a 5-man Center Flag tournament on June 11, 2000 (Sunday).  It's been a while since I played a tournament in Regina, so hopefully the Predators can make it.  Hopefully, there will be an Amateur & Novice categories, with the Entry Fees around $200-250 per team.  Prizes for the Amateur would be a % of the Entry Fees (cash), the novice prizes are not known at this time.
    • If you are looking for a great deal on goggles, check out The Generals Quarters.  $34.95 for a JT Softstream Goggles, which are the same as my rentals (minus the Combat Vision Insert, which I sell for most paintball goggles, including the  JT Spectras.  They come in clear ($14), and these 4 tints($15): amber, rose, smoke & blue).
    • The camouflage gloves for $4 are a hot seller.
  • May 22, 2000
    • If you are interested in playing pump gun only, please let me know.  I'm going to try to set-up a Pump League, maybe on the weekends.
  • May 20, 2000
    • Paintball Paradise is now selling camouflage cloth gloves for $4 a pair.  They are green and black and work great.
    • The new Bushmaster 2000 has been released.  It is an electronic gun.  Looks interesting.  The original Bushmaster was the best pump gun on the market at the time (around 1988-90).
    • Looks like the schedule for the World Paintball Federation is ready.  A 1st place finish in any of the 6 events wins you a trip to the Masters in New Orleans Oct. 6-8, 2000. ZAP looks like a major sponsor.
    • Sounds like Bud Orr is on the attack.  From talking to Worr games, Worr Games is suing at least 3 companies for "design infringement" or copyrights, on the Autococker.  Later this year, an electronic version of the Autococker is due for unveiling.
  • May 19, 2000
    • Some new targets have arrived.  The should work well during the "Shooting Booth".  We'll see how good they work on the weekend.
    • I've also ordered some spinning targets up from the U.S.A.  I hope they work well.
  • May 14, 2000
    • It's looking like a great turn-out for the OPEN Day on May 28 @ 1 p.m.  Hopefully we'll hit 50+ players like last year.  If you need rental equipment, the first players to pay their deposit get equipment.  Phoning and reserving will not guarantee you a marker, without a deposit of $10 per marker.  10 players = $100 deposit, which is refundable when you show up.
  • May 13, 2000
    • Sunday May 14 @ 10 am is now an Open Day.  I have two small groups coming out, and if you would like to join in, come on out.  Most hope to finish up before Mother's Day supper.
    • The Predators are looking at new jerseys, after seeing the Hell hounds new jerseys at Speedball.  They looked sharp.
    • Paintball Paradise Prince Albert is now selling Phantom pumpguns from Component Concepts Inc. (CCI).  These are beautiful pumpguns designed for Stock or Low Tech play.  The following are the patterns picked out already for order.  We'll be ready for the Low Tech.
      • George - Woodland Camouflage
      • Jim H. - Acid Green
      • Matt - Acid Blue
      • Jeff - Urban Camouflage
  • May 7, 2000
    • 32 players for the Night Game.  Fog machine worked quite well (had to move it with the wind).  James U. won the door prize for a movie (of our theme).  The Red team won in the end.  It was a fun night, thanks to everyone for coming out.
  • May 4, 2000
    • Looks like 20-30 players for the Night Game May 5th.  Fog machine is rented.
  • May 3, 2000
    • The following are the results of the Saskatchewan Speedball Championship held at Asquith's Paintball Action Games on April 30.  It is now the First tournament on the Saskatchewan Championship Circuit.  The numbers following the teams are their point totals.
      1. P.A. Predators     14
      2. The Generals        13
      3. High Voltage        12
      4. Hellfire                   11
      5. 4 Pack Attack        10
      6. Wicked                    9
      7. Hell Hounds Blue    8
      8. Hell Hounds Red    7
      9. 4 Neat Guys            6
      10. Kindersley Paintball Club     5
    • The Wolfpack receives 14 points for reffing the event (1st place points).  Congratulations Wolfpack, for a job well done.
    • The next event is on July 9 Santa Anonymous 4-man at Paintball Paradise Prince Albert Inc.
    • It was a terrific event.  The teams were fun to be around.  Great camaraderie!  It was great to see so many new teams.  Keep up the good work Doug, we had a blast!
  • April 30, 2000
    • Great turnout at the Saskatchewan Speedball Championships in Asquith, 10 teams.  Two Hell Hound Teams came up from Regina.  Kindersley Paintball Club really improved all day.  Hellfire was a team from Saskatoon, that made the finals at their first tournament.  Plus a few new teams, and some Saskatoon regulars (High Voltage, 4 Neat guys, Huns).  There were some good teams, along with a few surprises.
    • First place was $1,000.  The Final was all Prince Albert.  P.A. Predators vs. the Generals.  With some great timing, we (the Predators) won.  "They" were calling it the "Thousand Dollar Run": with less than 10 seconds left, I told Wayne to "Put them down!!" (while he was reloading), charged across the field, rang the bell, crashed into the dirt & we won by the one bell ring to none.  The Predators played great all day.  Way to go: George, Mike, Wayne, Matt & Jeff.  Repeat Champions.  The lessons from Las Vegas helped, and so did practicing the "bunker drills".
    • The Generals played well, and I would like to congratulate them on a job well done.  They came back from some gun problems, and made the finals.  Good work.
    • More results to come.
  • April 29, 2000
    • Looks like the Maidstone Tournament (June 11) is CANCELED.  Kevin Garret has sold his equipment and shut down his field.
    • The Speedball Tournament in Asquith (April 30) will now become the first tournament on the Saskatchewan Championship Circuit.  The second event will still be the Santa Anonymous on July 9 at Paintball Paradise Prince Albert Inc.  The rest of the Circuit is unaffected.
    • The Santa Anonymous (July 9) & the S.H.A.R.E. benefit have just confirmed the continuing sponsorship of ZAP Paintballs.  Thanks to Steve Moore, from Accucaps, the manufactures of ZAP Paintballs.
  • April 24, 2000
    • I want to thank: Kathie, Matt & Jeff for helping out on Friday.  We painted, cleaned & also refit the target range.  The Bale field now has a Safe Area were you can remove your goggles (west side of Bin #7), which is protected by walls.  And Matt remember that Duct Tape in your hair hurts.
    • The second part to the Vegas trip is now up.  It's about the arriving at the field.  Also we lost Jeff, which is hard to believe!

    • Don't forget the next Open Day is Sunday May 28 at 1 p.m.  Hopefully we'll hit 50+ players, like last year.
  • April 7, 2000
    • The first booking of the year went fine.  It was a little cold, but things ran well.  Hopefully this weekend will go quite well, as a little snow keeps falling every night.

    • The fresh paint seems to be quite good.

    • Looks like Brass Eagle is buying out JT USA.  Hopefully this will boost their share prices, as they have fallen from $25 last year in May, to about $5 and closed Friday at $5.375 a share, down $0.62.5.   The share price did hit $6 with the announcement to acquire JT.

    • The Hell Hounds has started planning for the WHY2KAftermath game on Aug. 13, 2000 at Paintball Paradise Regina.  Looks quite interesting.
  • Mar. 19, 2000
    • What a great day for paintball!!  +7oC and sunny.  We played quite a few games on the Bale Field.  It sure was fun.

    • The Spyder Cup is gearing up in Pittsburgh, PA USA.  The dates are May 27th - 28th, 2000.  First Place is 5 Ford Mustangs (just fantastic), and you must use Spyder guns.  Kingman is also hosting a Celebrity paintball game with some Steelers coming out to play.  Arthur Chang (CEO and founder of Kingman) from this game will donate $10,000 to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
    • Las Vegas Weather can be checked here.  The field owner said it has been hitting 90oF, that's just a little change from here at -20oC.  We leave in less than a week.  The countdown starts.
  • Mar. 11, 2000
    • No paintball this weekend.
    • Next Open Day is March 19.  This is a change from the 26 (which is canceled), because the Predators are going to Las Vegas to play in the Panam Circuit at that time.
    • BioProgress Technology International, Inc. announced the execution of an exclusive agreement with JT USA, LP, and Dye Precision, Inc.  BioProgress has developed the XGelÔ Film System.  It is the world's first animal-free soft capsule process.  The patented process eliminates the use of Gelatin, which is a protein derived from animal renderings.  Gelatin is the shell of a paintball.  This all started with the Mad Cow disease in the UK.  The new product looks like it could be an improvement over Gelatin.  Maybe better paintballs will come out in late 2000.  They would appear to work better under various temperatures (hot or cold) than Gelatin.  This could be great for winter play.
  • Mar. 5, 2000
    • Fun, warm (+7oC) day of paintball.  Had 9 players out including 4 new renters.  It's nice to play with only a hopper full, you can give somebody 20 quick shots and not use 300-400 paintballs per game.
    • The Bale Field just keeps on impressing me with how little paint is shot on a "Speedball-type" field.  Plus there is so much movement.  And it is just entertaining to watch & fast turnaround time between games.
  • Mar. 3, 2000
    • We'll be playing Mar. 5 at 1 p.m. (Sunday).  I've got more paint for the day.
    • I need the Predators going to Vegas to come and get more ID pics taken on Sunday.
  • Feb. 28, 2000
    • Had a great day of playing on Sunday.  12 players played hard on the Bale Field & the Big Field.  It was quite nice having High Pressure Air.  CO2 is always a problem in the winter.  Thanks for coming out guys.
    • The Last Sunday of every month will be an Open day.  If you need to reserve equipment, a $10 deposit will do so.  I think this will be a popular addition.
    • Some great ideas came out of the meeting on Santa Anonymous & SHARE.  I'll post these in a bit.
  • Feb. 25, 2000
    • Playing on Feb. 27 at 1 p.m.  Looks like great weather.
    • I'll host a meeting Feb. 27, at 6-7 p.m.(at the farm).  It's for SHARE & Santa Anonymous.  Plus Las Vegas.  Anyone interested in helping with these events, please come on out.  The video of 1999 Skyball might get viewed too.
  • Feb. 21, 2000
    • As part of a upgrading process, my redirect service of www.paintballpa.com, may not work Feb. 23-25, from 9 p.m. until midnight EST.  You will need to contact the site by this URL:  http://www3.sk.sympatico.ca/paintpa
    • Hopefully this is not a major problem, as they cannot give a specific time.  It might happen on one or two, or all three nights.  Hopefully, you will not see any problems.
  • Feb. 19, 2000
    • No Paintball tomorrow as I have a very bad cold.  Plus my boots are in the shop (along with my truck).
    • Maybe we can have another meeting Sunday Feb. 27 in the evening.  Plans for the SHARE & Santa Anonymous Tourneys are going well.  Las Vegas Panam here we come.
  • Feb. 16, 2000
    • National Paintball Supply/South Carolina/Texas/Los Angeles have a new brand called VORTEX.  VORTEX will be a complete line including 4 Brands of Paintballs. Procaps will manufacture VORTEX (Procaps makes Diablo).  The VORTEX line will be available ONLY to paintball fields and stores. No mass merchant store or mail order places will have access.  National Paintball Supply now carries 3 paintball manufactures: Accucaps, Nelson and Procaps.
    • At the Atlanta Super Show, a new Store & Field Owner Association will try to be organized.  Many owners were quite upset that some dealers were selling products below their wholesale cost, for retail prices.  They were mad about the unpublished price list to some companies in a category.  This out come could be quite interesting.
    • Winchester Paintball was the hit of the Super Show.  It's a new venture by ZAP Paintballs, licensing the Winchester name to promote a new complete line of paintball gear aimed at the mass merchant.  The ZAP and Point Zero will remain for the traditional paintball market.  Gord Moore (President of ZAP) said, “The 134-year-old Winchester name gives us instant credibility with retail buyers and consumers alike because it is a proven brand and industry leader.”  The initial Winchester Paintball line includes three markers, hoppers, tubes, barrel plugs, squeegees, goggles, and more.  The principles include: Gordon Moore, Jim Wahl and Aldo Perronne, based at the Accucaps facility in Strathroy, Ontario.  Aldo created Brass Eagle and sold it off years ago.
  • Feb. 10, 2000
    • No games on the weekend.  Feb. 12-13.
    • Happy Valentines Day to everybody, may cupid be shooting straight for you.
    • Just got my video of Skyball 1999.  It is a has action, great shots, bunkering, lots of paint, all in the Skydome.  If you have never played at this level of speedball, you will learn what it is all about.  They have some great game footage.  This video would apply to the Canadian Speedball Championships in Calgary.  Lots of paint, and action.
  • Feb. 9, 2000
    • Paintball 2-Xtremes - Feb. 2000
      • Well I just got my copy of the "Amy Miller" Issue.  She is a well built blond (and is a model), wearing a very small thong bikini (not camouflage).  The picture layout is 4 pages out of 140, and actually the photo quality is not great (but I think they were trying to do that).  I don't think anyone should get too excited about the pics, I've seen worse in more popular non adult mags.  Most players will want to see what the fuss is about.  I think it's good.  Maybe I can sell out of magazines for once in the summer, and might have to order more.
      • The new format looks great.  Glossy paper, regular size magazine.  Lots of articles; including some not on paintball but might be interesting to some players.  Movie reviews, Skateboarding, plus the paintball articles:
  • Feb. 6, 2000
    • The temperature was -11oC, with a bit of wind, but after the first game on the Bale Field, nobody was cold.  It was a lot of fun, and very intense.  We played maybe 12 games.  What a adrenaline rush!  It was slightly slower going than in the summer, but there were a few circle plays.  It's weird with the trails being up to 3 feet high walls, but nobody used the blower path for cover, only the bales.  I think being upright on the fast Bale field is more important.
    • It's interesting to see how well markers perform in cold weather.  It almost seems that less oil is better, as the oil freezes up components (like my slide check).  High rates of high seem to break more paint.  Next time I'm going to put a "Hotshot" under my loader cover, I think this will help the paintballs, like in the past.  After -8oc that extra heat for the paint, I believe becomes important.  Frozen paint is extremely hard to clean in a barrel below -5oC.  I'm still having problems with my Parker Coil Hose Remote in cold weather (-5oC), cracking off.
  • Feb. 3, 2000
    • Feb. 6 (Sunday) noon looks like a good day to be playing paintball.  Saturday I'll snowblow the course.  I think that we should give the Bale Field a try.
    • The meeting is still on Feb. 5 @ 9 p.m.
    • Paintball Magazine April 2000 is selling now.  Articles include:

  • Jan. 29, 2000
    • Sorry guys, I'm not feeling good this weekend.  Even though the weather is great, maybe next weekend we'll play.
    • I'm looking at having a Predator meeting on Feb. 5.  We'll discuss Panam Circuit in Las Vegas, Santa Anonymous and S.H.A.R.E.  We can take the Player ID Card pictures then.
    • Paintball 2-Xtremes magazine has changed.  New glossy format, regular size, and they have been watching Maximum change magazine formats.  142 pages with new sections, most of which are geared towards males 10-20 years old.  Haven't seen it yet, but it should be a good seller.

    • Worr games lawsuit against AKA & Splat Attack, will have a reprieve for a bit.  The Judge has dismissed the case because of Splat Attack being out of his juradication.  But it sounds like the suit will continue through the courts.
    • ACI has moved, their new address is: 701 South Auto Center Drive, Ontario, California 91761. The new phone number for ACI is 909-390-2323.  Their fax number is 909-390-6844.  Sounds like a big place with 6 truck bays to move their product out.  They also have some new prices on some equipment:
      • The Griffin: a rear-cocking Venturi bolt semiautomatic entry level marker for their hot new low-priced marker, MSRP is $139.99 U.S.D. (United States Dollars = exchange to 150% or $60 Canadian).
      • They have also produced a high volume cell, or as some people may incorrectly call it - a low pressure chamber - and the MSRP on that is $24.99 U.S.D.
      • Finally, they have an 8-ounce bottle of airlube with a MSRP price of $19.95.

    • The Great Western circuit has now become the Panam Circuit, which will host tournaments across North America.  It's Las Vegas tournament will be March 26-28, 2000.  The P.A. Predators are considering playing in the 5-man amateur division.  It's a limited paint game (200 paintballs per player per game).  Looks like it could be fun.
  • Jan. 14, 2000
  • Jan. 9, 2000
    • The First paintball games of 2000 were great.  It started at -18oC with the wind chill.  The wind died as the day went on, so the temp of -6oC was were we finished.  Pat, Matt, Jeff, Magboy & myself really enjoyed ourselves.  We ran 3 on 2 drills, and later 2 on 2 drills.  It was a fun day, everybody got shot.  It's fun when the opposition players have a hard time spotting you.  I really like my Snow Camo, but Pat & Matts' East German patterns work well too.  Matt & Jeff have recovered completely from eating those 100 paintballs at the Christmas Party, but they like shooting them best.
  • Jan. 8, 2000
    • We will be playing on Jan. 9, 2000 @ 1 p.m., if the temp. is above -15oC.  This could be the first game of the century.  I'm snowblowing the course today.
    • I've updated the Events page with all Saskatchewan Events that I know of.
    • I've as placed two new links on the bottom of the main or index pageTom Lewis, who helps the Hell Hounds on their page, has created two Saskatchewan Pages.  The first on is a Message Board & the second one is an On-Line Auction.  The On-Line Auction is like E-bay.  If you have anything you want to post, please feel free to do so.
  • Jan. 7, 2000
    • If you have a good stomach, you can check out Matt Nelsons Page.  It has a pic of his Championship Paintball Eating Event on Dec. 19, 1999.  you can see Jeff in the background.  Jeff did well, but not good enough.  Matt is one tough player.
  • Jan. 4, 2000
    • Happy New Year!!
    • If the weather warms up a little like -15oC or better, we will be playing.  Hopefully next weekend on sunday.  I still need to snow blow the course.  If you need paint let me know because it's getting a little short.  There still is lots of the stuff Matt & Jeff ate.  I have a good pic for the event, hopefully I can get it scanned for your viewing pleasure.  Matt & myself have video tapes of the contest.  Hopefully it warms up soon.
